What makes nettle a sustainable fiber?
Himalayan nettle grows wild and regenerates naturally, making it a renewable fiber that does not require the same intensive irrigation or chemical inputs as many conventional materials. Once harvested, it can be hand-processed and woven into strong, textured textiles with a beautifully natural feel.
Is nettle soft or scratchy?
Nettle has an earthy, textured feel rather than a silky-smooth finish. Our placemats, coasters, and bags are made from 100% nettle, giving them a sturdy, natural texture that works beautifully for pieces meant to hold their shape and stand up to everyday use. Our nettle pillow covers are blended with wool and/or cotton, which softens the feel while still keeping the depth, character, and handwoven texture that make nettle so beautiful.
Care Instructions
Handwash in cold water with a gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry, reshaping if needed. Avoid bleach, high heat, and machine drying to help preserve the natural texture of the nettle fiber.
