Introducing the Limited Edition
The Rabinal Collection
This limited collection of weekenders, pillows, and framed textiles is created from vintage handmade Rabinal huipiles (traditional Mayan blouses). The huipiles used come from the Maya Achi community of Rabinal, in Guatemala's Baja Verapaz department.
Traditionally handwoven by women on a backstrap loom, these huipiles are often constructed from a single panel of cotton and characterized by geometric forms such as zig-zags and triangles woven directly into the cloth.
More than decoration, the huipil is an expression of Achi identity and a living tradition passed between generations of women.
