Bring a touch of story-rich beauty to your walls with this pair of framed handwoven textiles—each one a blend of Mayan artistry, Afghan craftsmanship, and vintage charm. The textiles are carefully selected pieces of vintage Mayan huipil, handwoven in Guatemala, then thoughtfully framed by Afghan refugee artisans in Greensboro, NC.
Each textile is set inside a character-filled vintage dark wooden frame paired with a vintage velvet mat that adds warmth, depth, and an heirloom feel. We leave off the glass so you can fully appreciate the texture—the raised threads, intricate patterns, and handwoven details that make every piece one-of-a-kind.
Sold as a set of two, each frame measures 8.5" tall x 7" wide and comes wired and ready to hang. These pieces are perfect for creating a layered gallery wall, enhancing a cozy nook, or gifting to someone who loves meaningful, globally inspired décor.

More About the Artisan...
OUR AFGHAN FRIENDS arrived in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2021 from Afghanistan, fleeing the country as refugees when the Taliban resumed power. We cannot use their names because some family members remain in Afghanistan. In Greensboro, they have quickly adjusted to their new lives and have found various jobs to provide additional support to their family. They use their expert seamstress abilities to assemble Intertwined's mixed-textile handmade throw pillows, combining fabrics (vintage and new) from various countries with our signature hemp fabric. They also create our stunning handmade bags from upholstery fabric that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
