Handmade
This product is handmade with Moroccan leather, thought to be some of the best quality leather in the world. The leather is tanned by hand in 1000+ year old tanneries using a process passed down from generation to generation. The smell will disappear with time and use. Should you prefer to speed up the process, you can hang the item outside in indirect sunlight or apply baking soda to your item and put it in a sealed pillowcase, garbage bag or large ziploc bag for 48 hours. Afterwards, simply vacuum or wipe down with a soft cloth and enjoy! You can be sure that the top-quality leather our artisans use will last a lifetime and only get better with age!
We do our best to take photos that accurately represent the true colors and nature of the handmade items, but colors vary across monitors, and photos can’t highlight all aspects of a product.

More About the Artisan...
SOUFIANE BELHAYL is a skilled leather artisan in Marrakech, Morocco who started learning his craft at the age of 12. Soufiane and his 4 partners create beautifully crafted purses and handmade bags out of vintage kilim and leather, leather pillow covers and leather tabletop items such as placemats and napkin rings for Intertwined. Our Moroccan poufs and handmade pillows from vintage kilims are also made by Soufiane. He also identifies and recruits other Moroccan artisans to create designs for Intertwined.
